Questions:- (This review is from the point of view of motorhomers driving a Bessacarr E769 tag axle – 8.56m)
What are the pitches like?
Excellent. A variety of sizes, none small. Seemed to be separated by a tree each 🙂
Is there water on each pitch?
No, but easily accessible in this compact area – 1 tap in the motorhome service point + another on the edge of the garden/seating area
What is the electric like?
At least 16amp. Very good – no issues at all
Drainage?
Yes – there is a good motorhome service area.
What’s the site access like?
Good – easy access from the main road, although there is a slight bump as you enter the site there is an area built to the right of the road so that you can swing in to lessen the impact of this. The approach towards the Cabo de Gata is through the plastic until you get to Albaricoques; the site is just before the little town.
Just drive in and somebody will appear at the office within minutes (if they’re not already there)
Having said that this time we phoned ahead to check there was room (as we had just been turned away from Mar Azul). There were only 4 spaces left!!
What are the Sanitary facilities like?
Toilets: Gents on 1 side of the building and ladies on the other. Very, very clean but the cubicles are a little tight (however, maybe I’ve lost weight as they don’t seem as tight as on our last visit)!
Toilet paper provided? Yes Showers: Perfectly acceptable but a little small – which meant that Calv showered in the van
What other facilities are there?
Bins etc.
Lots of tables and chairs + a bbq
Washing machine – sorry don’t know the cost
Dish washing and laundry sinks
They sell blue! (A little more expensive and a little runnier than we’re used to, but the only place we’ve seen it recently)
Is there any internet; if so how much and how good?
Yes – Free! The signal on the site wi-fi was actually pretty good
How welcoming are they at reception and staff in general?
Excellent – really friendly
How much is it?
14 Euros including electric – 11 Euros without. Cheaper if you stay longer. Excellent value for money
What’s the area like?
Right on the edge of the Cabo de Gata Natural Park. So on 1 side you have plastic (although tbf you can’t actually see much plastic from the site) and on the other wonderful views of the mountains etc.
Some wonderful days out to be had. And of course if you wander up to the town you can find a famous street used in a scene in ‘A Fistful of Dollars’ 🙂
This time we wandered around a bit more of the little village and even found that there is a bar! We also found a little shop – so it was worth the wander 🙂
Suitable for 5th Wheel Vans?
Possibly – for smaller vans
