Questions:-  (This review is from the point of view of motorhomers driving a Swift Kontiki 669 tag axle – 8.56m)

What are the pitches like?

5 hardstandings + grass area for tents.  Pitches well laid out, but fairly tight to access.  Decent size and fairly level – we didn’t need any blocks

Is there water on each pitch?

There is one tap shared but a small site so easily accessible

What is the electric like?

10A– we had no problems.

Drainage?

Yes

What’s the site access like?

This amazing little site is located in a fairly unlikely spot in a residential area.  In effect you enter via a house drive and the site is in the back garden!  However, do not let this put you off – it was one of our favourite sites 🙂  We were so happy here that we stayed an extra night and had a daytrip to Malham in the Yorkshire Dales rather than move to a site in the dales.

What are the Sanitary facilities like?

Toilets:                              1 in each shower room.  Spotless 🙂

Toilet paper provided? Yes                                                                                                                   Showers:                          2 individual shower rooms

What other facilities are there?

Bins and CWD

Kitchen available for campers use, containing a fridge, microwave, sink and washing machine.

No ferry due to Storm Brian

No internet on site, but very good signal if you have your own.

Very welcoming.  Really lovely people.

How much is it?

We paid £11 per night including electric.

What’s the area like?

This site is about 5 miles from Blackpool itself (and it feels like a long drive), but this is a pleasant residential area with local shops and a chippie fairly close by.  There’s a nice walk into Knott End where there’s a beach, normal local shops, a nice bistro and a pub (The Bourne Arms)

More detail:

We liked:-

The area

The owners

The excellent facilities

We didn’t like so much:-

Just Blackpool itself!  Nothing to do with the campsite of course 🙂

We hated:-

Nothing

Moving On:

We headed towards home via Devizes to see family.
