Good for: 1st stop off the ferry or train at Calais (if you don’t want to drive too far)
Phone: n/a – this is a free overnight stop
Questions:- (This review is from the point of view of motorhomers driving a Bessacarr E769 tag axle – 8.56m)
Detail: Spot by the canal from where you can watch the huge barges going past, and also watch the ducks and geese (we saw a display by some other birds, lifting their tails and jumping up and down!)
What’s the site access like? Good – turn left at the Netto then a quick dogleg, left-right, at the end of the road.
How much is it? FREE
What’s the area like.
Very popular with the locals (fishing, meeting up etc.) When we visited the actual designated area for motorhomes was taken over by a temporary (we think) bar/stage/eating area. We managed to tuck ourselves in by the little climbing park (fairly new) when a car left.
There were portacabin toilets (for the bar) which were open and usable when we were there.
Moving on: Next stop on the route south was Reims (a free stopover in Muizon)
Would we return?? Probably not, as don’t know when the area might be taken over and inaccessible
