Questions:-  (This review is from the point of view of motorhomers driving a Bessacarr 769 tag axle – 8.56m)

What are the pitches like?

Excellent pitches- all grass in a massive field (although this is a C&C certificated site for 5 vans they do hold rallies as well)

Is there water on each pitch?

No, but easily accessible

What is the electric like?

16A– excellent

Drainage?

No, but owners happy for grey water to be used to water the trees!

What’s the site access like?

Entrance is off a fairly narrow lane – it is best to approach from the Devizes end (essential really if you have a larger unit) and not from the Lacock end as the road is quite narrow and steep from that direction.

What are the Sanitary facilities like?

Toilets:                              No toilets or showers

Toilet paper provided? N/A                                                                                                         Showers:                         N/A

What other facilities are there?

Bins and CWD

Dog walk – nice walk from the site around the fields, including a lake

Is there any internet; if so how much and how good?

No – signal for own was fine

Very welcoming – lovely older couple have been running the site for about 30 years.

How much is it?

We paid £12 per night including electric.  We decided to go home a day earlier than planned (as the weather wasn’t great and our family party was finished).  We were very surprised to have that night’s money refunded!

What’s the area like?

You can’t go wrong in this area – Lacock is beautiful, as is Castle Coombe (both are used regularly in filming).  Bath isn’t far at all and even Devizes is well worth a visit (head for the Caen Hill Locks for an invigorating walk!

You do really need transport though (we booked a taxi which took ages to arrive!)

More detail:

We liked:-

The area

The owners

The space and the peace and quiet

We didn’t like so much:-

Just no toilets – but we knew this when we booked (we just then forgot!) – we would still return though!

We hated:-

Nothing
