Questions:-  (This review is from the point of view of motorhomers driving a Swift Kontiki 669 tag axle – 8.56m)

What are the pitches like?

5 hardstandings – long pitches, so we were able to park the car in front of the van, and grass to the side

Is there water on each pitch?

No – the tap is easily accessible though

What is the electric like?

16A– no problems at all for us

Drainage?

Just a drain by the toilet

What’s the site access like?

Access is good from the main road; note it’s the 2nd entrance on the left after you’ve crossed the railway

What are the Sanitary facilities like?

Toilets:                             1 toilet

Toilet paper provided? We’re not sure as there was very little when we arrived so we put 1 in there – this wasn’t replaced whilst we were there.

Showers:                         No shower available (although there is a shower in the toilet – it’s not complete!)

What other facilities are there?

Bins and CWD

What’s the area like?

There’s a country park within a couple of miles

Ashington is close by, but about a 10 minute drive.  Plenty of shops and a leisure centre here

Morpeth is close by in the other direction.

Newbiggin is well worth a visit – we were surprised by how lovely the bay is.  We also visited Druridge Bay and Amble.  We didn’t have time to visit Warkworth or Alnwick unfortunately.

Heading the other way we would highly recommend a visit to Cragside near Rothbury

We liked:-

The area

The welcome

The free-range chickens!

The access

We didn’t like so much:-

The fog (not the campsite’s fault of course!)

We hated:-

Nothing

Moving On:

We moved a little north to Holy Island
