Good for visiting: la Guardia de Jaen, Jaen

Phone: n/a – this is a free overnight stop

Questions:- (This review is from the point of view of motorhomers driving a Bessacarr E769 tag axle – 8.56m)

Detail: Dedicated Space below the castle. All services available, including toilets (sadly not open in the winter)

What’s the site access like? Good – come off at J292, that is, approach from the North not the south. There is a garage where you can get water and gas on the way up. We are in an 8.56m, tag axel and had not issues coming on this way. Go out the same way, but there is no direct access to the A 44 so you will be using local roads to get back to it for just over a mile

How much is it? FREE

What’s the area like.

It’s lovely, overlooking a wooded gorge, and overlooked by the castle. We saw a red squirrel!

Good exercise into the little town where siestas are rigidly followed!! It took 3 trips up and down the steep roads before we find a shop open!

We also walked up to the mirador on the hill behind the aire. Hard, hard work but only just over half mile and well worth it 😊

Moving on:Next stop on the route south was la Cala de Mijas

Would we return??Yes, happily
