Good for: Good spot shortly after the Austrian border. The main reason to visit here is it’s proximity to Neuschwanstein Castle, but the town is lovely, and historic, in itself.
Address: Abt-Hafner Strasse, Füssen, Schwaben, Bayern, Germany, 87629
Questions:- (This review is from the point of view of motorhomers driving a Bessacarr E769 tag axle – 8.56m)
Relevant Post:- Return to childhood, Neuschwanstein
Detail: 1 of 3 areas in a line with Lidl and Aldi pretty much opposite
Full services (toilets, showers, washing up) Grey water emptying open only in the morning (we think to deter randoms rocking up to use them), but easy to get water and empty toilets. Showers are excellent (50c, but almost like your bathroom at home!)
Excellent cycling – Germany is made for cycling 🙂 We cycled down to the lake (about 5 minutes) and then into town on our first evening. It was an easy cycle to Neuschwanstein the next day.
What’s the site access like? Easy.
How much is it? We paid 22E
What’s the area like?:
Lovely. Near a lake; 5-10 min cycle into lovely Fussen, 20 mins cycle to Neuschwanstein
Moving on: Next stop was heading west – we found ourselves in Wangen im Allgau
Would we return?? Yes, for visiting Neuschwanstein it was absolutely perfect
