Questions:-  (This review is from the point of view of motorhomers driving a Bessacarr 769 tag axle – 8.56m)

What are the pitches like?

Perfect – nice and big with plenty of room for our outfit

Stony, gravelly pitches.  Good surface

Is there water on each pitch?

No, but easily accessible everywhere

What is the electric like?

Good – 10A

Drainage?

Yes – by the car park

What’s the site access like?

Excellent

What are the Sanitary facilities like?

Toilets:                              4 individual cubicles (accessed directly from outside).  The disabled cubicle is the only one without a small opening at the top of the door.  There is also a urinal beside the chemical disposal point 🙂

Toilet paper provided?  NO

Showers:                          4 showers in a unisex block.  Very clean (a new addition it would appear)  However, Calv used the showers and said they smelled musty and the drains were blocking and the shower heads were a little scabby.  We put this down to being ‘post-season’ and would like to think they are better during the main season.

What other facilities are there?

Bins and CWD

Dishwashing area (and laundry sinks)

Swimming Pool – indoor and heated (also now closed!)

Bungalows and lodges for hire

Is there any internet; if so how much and how good?

Yes – free.  I don’t know how good it is but our signal for our mobile internet was excellent

Very good in reception.  Friendly couple running the site with their toddler.  Brush up on your French as there isn’t much English spoken.  I’m enjoying the opportunity to practice my rusty French 🙂

How much is it?

We paid 13Euro per night including electric – using the ACSI card, + 1.10Euro per night local tax

What’s the area like?

Lovely – the town of La Ferte-Vidame is charming and well worth a visit.  Probably about 3/4 mile walk.  Boasts at least 2 bakeries/patisseries, a butchers and a charcuterie, pharmacy, small supermarket, florist, cafes and a couple of bars.

More detail:

We liked:-

We didn’t like so much:-

We hated:-

Nothing
