Questions:-  (This review is from the point of view of motorhomers driving a Bessacarr 769 tag axle – 8.56m)

What are the pitches like?

A mix of grass and a few hard-standings – bigger than expected as website says phone for bigger units over 8m – however most pitches look like they can accommodate us at 8.56m..

Is there water on each pitch?

No, but easily accessible everywhere

What is the electric like?

Good

Drainage?

Yes

What’s the site access like?

Good access but signage is lacking.  We only knew where to go as our friends were waiting for us with our barrier key

What are the Sanitary facilities like?

2 facilities – 1 closer to vans in a portakabin (not wonderful tbh).  The others in a modern block which is much better, although there are already a couple of issues with badly fitter toilet seats and broken toilet roll holders…).  You are given a key fob to access all the facilities

Toilets:                              Good enough.  3 cubicles in the portakabin (ladies anyway) and another 4 in the modern block

Toilet paper provided? Yes  – plentiful                                                                                                Showers:                          3 showers in each of the ladies and gents.  You have to pay for your shower…

What other facilities are there?

Bins and CWD

Dishwashing area

Information area

Laundry (£4 washing machine; £1 drier)

Warden and assistant wardens

Bar (with plentiful food on offer)

Is there any internet; if so how much and how good?

Not that I’m aware of – ours works perfectly

Good

How much is it?

We paid £22 per night including electric – remember this is in August.

What’s the area like?

This is a village with 8 pubs 🙂  We particularly liked the Shakespeare Inn where we received a very friendly welcome

More detail:

We liked:-

The location by the water

Relaxed nature of the site

We didn’t like so much:-

The bins were right behind our pitch, but then we could have gone on a different pitch.

We hated:-

Nothing

Moving On:

Just back home to keep working for our next European trip next summer
