Questions:- (This review is from the point of view of motorhomers driving a Swift Kontiki 669 tag axle – 8.56m)
What are the pitches like?
Excellent pitches (a mix of hardstandings and grass – mostly hardstandings) with some jumbo pitches (really not needed with the availability of facilities). Good spacing. I do hate the way Caravan Club try to dictate exactly how you should park….
Is there water on each pitch?
No, but easily accessible
What is the electric like?
16A– excellent
Drainage?
Yes – easily accessible motorhome service point
What’s the site access like?
Entrance is off a very busy, very fast main road. It’s more of an issue when leaving as the cars do drive very fast and there’s a significant bend near the site entrance. Be careful.
What are the Sanitary facilities like?
Toilets: Generous sized toilet block
Toilet paper provided? Yes Showers: Plentiful showers
Sanitary facilities are of the standard you would expect from a Caravan Club site
What other facilities are there?
Bins and CWD
Dog walk
Dishwashing area
Reception
Laundry facilities
Is there any internet; if so how much and how good?
Yes. good enough
Welcoming.
How much is it?
We paid £28 per night including electric.
What’s the area like?
This site is very close to Leeds Castle, so perfect if you’re looking to make a visit here.
As stated earlier it is situated on a busy road so a car is needed really.
More detail:
We liked:-
The facilities
The company (we met up with friends!)
We didn’t like so much:-
We, unfortunately, often find Caravan Club sites less friendly than other sites. Perhaps because we’re in a motorhome?.. Don’t get me wrong there are plenty of people who are friendly, but we do notice that there are those who avoid eye contact so they don’t have to say hello!!
We hated:-
Nothing
Moving On:
We headed to Herne Bay where we found a wonderful site, Hampton Bay Park 🙂
