Detail:
We stayed in April 2024
Not far off of the A10/N10 midway between Poitiers and Angouleme. Approach is through the little town and is narrow in places, but perfectly doable
Fairly level park up with views over the park.
The borne is a little odd in it’s set-up but perfectly usable
There is a charge for electricity of 5E (4 hook ups available – you phone the number on the board and someone comes out from the Marie’s office to turn a terminal on for you). We didn’t use it but it seemed to work ok for those who were
What’s the site access like? As mentioned it is along a few narrow roads through town, but not a problem.
Services?: Full services – electric is payable (5E) Parking Free
There are toilets through the park and across the bridge (maybe 3 mins walk), but nicer toilets if you then head along the lane to the right (on the main road into the town)
What’s the area like?:
Dedicated area with room for 10 vans (although if there were 10 in there it would be a bit snug!) The positioning of the trees would also make it difficult to fit 10 in.
Nice little park and then a bridge over the river takes you to the lane for access to the church (which was open!)
Lovely walk around the village where there are a couple of bars, restaurants, cafes, a bakery and butchers.
The chateau dominates the views. It is possible to visit, but only from April to September. And only on weekends. And only with a guided tour…!
Clearly lots of Brits with homes in the area.
Would we return?
Yes – we definitely will 🙂
