Questions:- (This review is from the point of view of motorhomers driving a Bessaccar 769 tag axle – 8.56m)
What are the pitches like?
There is an ‘Orchard Field’ (right next to the facilities) which is a Camping & Caravanning certified site, and then the ‘Back Field’ (where we were) which offers additional camping for tents, motorhomes and caravans.
The pitches were more than adequate and also easy to level up.
Is there water on each pitch?
No, but easily accessible (near the top of the field by the fence separating the 2 sites)
What is the electric like?
16A– excellent
Drainage?
Yes – by the facilities block (with the CWD)
What’s the site access like?
Entrance is off a fairly busy road. Need to be a little careful when leaving. You turn off the main road when you see the Greasby sign ahead (and have just passed an entrance to The Wirrall Country Park on your left).
What are the Sanitary facilities like?
Toilets: Decent sized toilet block. Separate ladies and gents with 3 cubicles in each
Toilet paper provided? Yes Showers: 2 showers each. Looked perfectly adequate
There was a clock and a chair available. Perfectly pleasant
What other facilities are there?
Bins and CWD
Public footpath at the back of the site to take you to the Country Park and also to a bus-stop
Dishwashing area
Is there any internet; if so how much and how good?
No, but decent signal if you have your own
We knew there would be no-body there when we arrived (good communication 🙂 ), and the guy in charge does a walk round regularly, so will find you.
How much is it?
We paid £15.50 per night including electric.
What’s the area like?
Immediately behind a country park, but also very close to ‘civilisation’! We had the car so drove to a train station, where we parked for free and took the train into Liverpool for about £9 🙂
However, there were many foreign visitors who didn’t have cars and they had no trouble finding the bus stop and making there way to Liverpool from there. I don’t know how easy it would be to get to Port Sunlight (a must visit!) and Chester (another must visit – see my blog post) from here though.
