Detail:

We stayed in April 2024

Came as needed to do a wash (several others doing this). Must pay up front (ACSI 23E+ 1E tax pp) Just paid 1 night to start (and left it at that..) Rain didn’t help the feel of the site; it is scruffy, muddy & uncared for. Facilities fine but toilet paper must be collected from the wall outside (!), also soap (dispenser empty). At least we managed a wash. Staff very friendly. There is a 2nd, older, m/h area on row 2; CWD behind the water fountain. We wouldn’t return.

Coimbra itself is well worth a visit – we found that we were easily able to park, for free, alongside the river opposite the bus station. A bit of a walk to visit the town but a good option as the campsite really isn’t suitable (in our humble opinion anyway)

What’s the site access like? Easy enough – not far off the main road. You do have to pay before entering the site proper, and if you don’t find a pitch on your first go round you have to be let back in….

How much is it? We paid 23E + 1E tourist tax per night in April 2024

Services?:   All services available, but you have to search for them.

What’s the area like?:

Not a lot going on in the immediate area, but apparently it’s easy to get the bus into Coimbra. I think it would be fairly easy to cycle in as well.

Would we return?

Not in a million years 😦
