Questions:-  (This review is from the point of view of motorhomers driving a Bessacarr E769 tag axle – 8.56m)

What are the pitches like?

A variety of sizes, they would have been tight for us if the site had been full

Is there water on each pitch?

No, but easily accessible

What is the electric like?

Good – no issues at all

Drainage?

I’m sorry – I can’t remember, having attempted to erase this site from my mind

What’s the site access like?

Good – on the main road along the seafront.  However, be aware that the gate is closed at lunchtime and there really is nowhere suitable to wait.

They saw us and let us in, only to state that they thought our van too big for their pitches.  Pointing out that we were there as the ACSI book stated they took our size of van they basically said ‘well go and look then – come back after lunch to book in’.

As there was hardly anyone there we had no trouble pitching up.  If full it might be more of an issue in a larger van.

What are the Sanitary facilities like?

Toilets:             Acceptable

Toilet paper provided? Yes                                                                                              Showers:                             Looked absolutely fine, but we used our own facilities

What other facilities are there?

Bins etc.

Laundry

Dish washing and laundry sinks

Motorhome Service Area

Mini-market

Restaurant & bar – food was decent.    Pizza takeaway

Children’s play area

Swimming pools – swimming hats compulsory

Is there any internet; if so how much and how good?

I don’t remember having any problems with our signal

How welcoming are they at reception and staff in general?

Adequate is the best I can say

How much is it?

We paid 19E per night + tourist tax on ACSI

What’s the area like?

Not an awful lot going on in the immediate area (although across the road from the beach)

We cycled a couple of miles to find a supermarket.  Not a particularly pleasant cycle or supermarket.

Suitable for 5th Wheel Vans?

Probably not

More detail:

The Good:-

Met a British couple for the first time on our trip so were able to chat

Food in the restaurant

What could be improved:

A little tired in places, but overall clean and fairly well looked after

Welcome

We witnessed some unbelievable ‘health & safety’ with the maintenance man cutting the tree branches with a chainsaw up a ladder….  It would have been funny if not so dangerous (but not unusual for Italy)

 We really didn’t like:

The site.  It was one of those moments as we drove in my heart sank with disappointment.  Although it improved enough to stay 2 nights, I absolutely wouldn’t return or recommend it.

Moving On:

We headed to Lucca – a mile down the road we passed through Marina di Massa, which was lovely.  Hindsight is a wonderful thing

Would we return?

Absolutely not
